In regard for a 35-year-old woman who is known to have systemic lupus erythematosus:

A. There is a 40–60 per cent chance of a flare during pregnancy.

B.  Should be treated with either the introduction of corticosteriods or an increase in the dose. 

C. Hypertension should be treated with labetolol, nifedipine or methyldopa. 

D. Deterioration in renal function may necessitate delivery of the fetus. 

E.  In patients who are anti-Ro antibody positive, there is a risk of the fetus developing congenital heart block or neonatal cutaneous discoid lupus.
